Kupang, Spektrum-ntt.com|| Penjabat Wali Kota Kupang, Fahrensy Priestley Funay,SE.,M.Si., meresmikan Gedung Gereja Masehi Advent Hari Ketujuh (GMAHK) Jemaat Bukit Harapan di Kelurahan Bello, Kamis (09/11). Peresmian ditandai dengan pembukaan tirai pengumuman papan nama gereja oleh Penjabat Wali Kota Kupang dilanjutkan dengan penandatanganan prasasti peresmian serta penahbisan oleh Penjabat Wali Kota dan Ketua GMAHK Daerah Nusa Tenggara. Sebelumnya, pelaksanaan pembangunan Gedung GMAHK Bukit Harapan mulai dikerjakan setelah dilakukan peletakan batu pertama pada tahun 2015 silam.

Hadir dalam acara peresmian tersebut, Ketua GMAHK Daerah Nusa Tenggara, Pdt. Mesnick MWAtaupah, Gembala Jemaat GMAHK Daerah Nusa Tenggara, Ketua LPM Kelurahan Bello, Tokoh Masyarakat , Tokoh Pemuda, Ketua KUB Santa Maria Portagente, Komunitas Suster Carolus Boromeus Bello, Jemaat dan para undangan. Turut mendampingi Penjabat Wali Kota dalam acara tersebut, Camat Maulafa Matheus ABH Da Costa, S.Sos., Kepala Bagian Umum Setda Kota Kupang Matheos AHT Maahury, SE., Kepala Bagian Protokol dan Komunikasi Pimpinan Setda Kota Kupang Ernest S. Ludji, S. STP. M.Si., dan Lurah Bello, Robinson E. Lona.

Dalam Serangkaiannya, Penjabat Wali Kota menyampaikan, pembangunan gedung gereja GMAHK Jemaat Bukit Harapan tentu melewati proses pergumulan panjang dari seluruh jemaat, dengan impian agar gereja ini akan tumbuh dan berkembang serta memiliki persekutuan yang indah dan utuh, siap menjadi jemaat yang mampu menjadi pengemban misi pelayanan gerejawi sesuai amanat agung Kristus sang kepala gereja.

Menurutnya, upaya keras seluruh komponen jemaat dalam merealisir keberadaan gedung gereja hingga diresmikan penggunaannya, membuktikan adanya semangat juang yang tinggi dan kerja sama yang harmonis dari semua unsur jemaat dalam mendukung rencana panitia pada setiap proses hingga pada tahapan penggunaannya.

Oleh karena itu, menurutnya momentum peresmian gereja ini merupakan suatu peristiwa keimanan yang tidak hanya menjawab pergumulan jemaat namun sekaligus telah mengantarkan jemaat ke taraf yang lebih maju dan menuai kesuksesan kendati diperhadapkan dengan tantangan yang begitu kompleks di tengah tren globalisasi.

Lebih lanjut Fahren menyampaikan, pemerintah menyadari bahwa untuk meningkatkan kualitas kerohanian masyarakat secara utuh diperlukan peran serta gereja melalui para rohaniawan dan para pelayan Tuhan. Oleh karena itu pemerintah menyampaikan terima kasih kepada GMAHK Jemaat Harapan yang telah turut serta memberikan kontribusi melalui pelayanan dan berbagai pelatihan rohani untuk memperkuat serta memperkukuh keimanan masyarakat.

Sementara itu, Ketua GMAHK Daerah Nusa Tenggara, Pdt. Mesnick MWAtaupah mengungkapkan, hampir 10 tahun gedung gereja ini rampung dikerjakan, merupakan sebuah pergumulan yang luar biasa dari jemaat, namun di tengah pergumulan ada berkat Tuhan yang berlimpah.

Mesnick menuturkan untuk dapat terus membangun gereja ini dengan banyak sumbangsih berupa materi, pikiran dan tenaga yang benar-benar diberikan dengan tulus agar pembangunan gereja ini dapat terselesaikan. Di sisi lain, juga ada Pemerintah Kota Kupang yang terus mendukung, memberikan perhatian serta membantu dan mengarahkan untuk terus membangun. Mesnick pun berharap agar gereja ini kelak, tidak hanya berdiri untuk dirinya sendiri tetapi juga menjadi berkat serta kehadirannya juga harus bermanfaat bagi orang lain. Gereja harus ramah, mudah memberi dan membantu untuk kemulian nama Tuhan.

Ketua panitia pembangunan, Demetrius Kolbate dalam laporan singkatnya menjelaskan, pembangunan gereja ini dimulai dengan dana yang kecil namun pembangunan terus didukung oleh jemaat dalam berbagai bentuk komitmen. Selain itu, bantuan juga diberikan dari para sahabat yang berasal dari sejumlah negara di luar negeri dan dari dalam negeri sehingga pengerjaan gedung gereja GMAHK Jemaat Bukit Harapan dapat dirampungkan dan hari ini diresmikan sekaligus ditahbiskan. **
