Penyerahan bantuan berlangsung di Balai Serbaguna Pelatihan dan Pembelajaran Masyarakat (Balser PPM) Desa Saenam, Senin, 11/04/2022

Kepala Desa Saenam, Eduard Yohanes Tualaka, pada kesempatan itu berterima kasih kepada Rotary Comunity Corps Kupang, kordinator Soe yang telah hadir langsung untuk memberikan bantuan kepada masyarakat Desa Saenam, khususnya bagi pengandang disabilitas

"Mereka adalah masyarakat berkebutuhan khusus yang kalau kita mau bilang hidup mereka rumit. Hidup mereka berlangsung hanya karena kemurahan Tuhan. Karena sebagaimana kondisi mereka yang sudah seperti ini tapi harus berjuang hidup sendiri. Mereka juga tidak terima PKH, BST, dll karena alasan tidak punya dokumen kependudukan," jelas Kades Saenam. 

Eduard Tualaka juga menjelaskan bahwa pada tahun 2020, Pemdes Saenam pernah menganggarkan dalam Anggaran Dana Desa (ADD) untuk bantuan pangan bagi seluruh KK miskin yang notabene adalah penyandang disabilitas, namun karena refocusing anggaran untuk Covid-19 dan untuk BumDes sehingga sampai dengan saat ini 23 KK miskin di Desa Saenam belum tersentuh bantuan pemerintah.

"Jadi kebijakan bagaimanapun untuk membantu mereka juga susah. Ini 23 KK miskin tapi kementerian sosial Indonesia tidak mengakomodir mereka karena tidak memiliki data kependudukan, " ujar Eduard

Sementara kordinator RCC kabupaten TTS, Ruth Agnes Bunga, S.Pd berterima kasih kepada Kepala Desa Saenam dan seluruh perangkat Desa yang responsif dalam membantu semua KK miskin yang ada, terutama warga masyarakat penyandang disabilitas.

"Selama 16 tahun saya melakukan pelayanan di berbagai Desa, baru kali ini saya menemui banyak sekali orang tua yang kondisinya seperti ini," ucap Agnes Bunga dengan bercucuran air mata. 

Agnes Bunga berjanji kepada masyarakat Desa Saenam bahwa dirinya akan melakukan pendekatan dengan Dinas Dukcapil TTS untuk bisa melakukan pelayanan dokumen kependudukan bagi seluruh penyandang disabilitas di Desa Saenam. 

Kordinator RCC TTS menutupkan akan mendatangkan lagi bantuan WC Portabel, dan bantuan seng untuk rumah layak huni bagi KK miskin di Desa Saenam.
