Funay, SE, M.Si, turun langsung meninjau lokasi pemanfaatan lahan kosong atau urban farming yang digarap oleh sejumlah Perangkat Daerah di Kelurahan Naioni, Jumat (13/1). Turut mendampingi Sekda dalam peninjauan tersebut, Inspektur Kota Kupang, Frengki Amalo, S.Sos, MM, Sekretaris Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja Kota Kupang, Alan Yoga Girsang, SH, M.Si, Kepala Bagian Pemerintahan Sekda Kota Kupang, Hengky C. Malelak, S.STP, M.Si, serta sejumlah pimpinan perangkat daerah beserta jajarannya di lahannya masing-masing.

Kurang lebih 5 lahan yang digarap oleh perangkat daerah lingkup Kota Kupang berhasil dikunjungi Sekda bersama rombongan. Dari hasil peninjauan tersebut Sekda mengakui masih perlu banyak evaluasi. Perangkat Daerah pengolah lahan diminta untuk tidak hanya sekedar menanam, tapi juga merawat dan memantau perkembangan tanaman sehingga membuahkan hasil yang baik.

Dalam peninjauan tersebut Sekda bersama rombongan berkesempatan memanen sayur labu yang sudah ditanam oleh Kepala Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak Kota Kupang beserta jajaran. Menurutnya ini menjadi bukti bahwa dinas tersebut telah menindaklanjuti instruksi pimpinan dalam hal ini Penjabat Wali Kota Kupang tentang urban farming dengan memanfaatkan lahan kosong baik milik pemerintah, swasta maupun perorangan.

Sekda menyampaikan apresiasi kepada Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak dan berharap pencapaian tersebut tidak berhenti sampai di situ. “Ini menjadi contoh yang patut ditiru oleh perangkat daerah lainnya,” ungkapnya. Ke depan di lahan yang sama bisa ditanam tanaman hortikultura lainnya yang memiliki nilai ekonomis dan turut membantu menekan laju inflasi di Kota Kupang. Perangkat daerah juga diminta untuk berkoordinasi secara baik dengan pemilik lahan serta bekerja sama dengan kelompok tani setempat sehingga ikut membantu mereka memasarkan hasil kebun tersebut dengan sistem bagi hasil yang diatur secara baik. (**/PKP_jms.
