Kota kupang. Spektrum-ntt.com || Suasana Kantor Wali Kota Kupang pagi ini, Kamis (13/1) sedikit berbeda. Para pejabat tinggi pratama, camat bahkan para lurah tampak berdatangan. Beberapa di antaranya bahkan membawa serta sejumlah staf. Tampak juga Wakil Wali Kota Kupang, dr. Hermanus Man, bersama Sekretaris Daerah, Fahrensy P. Funay, SE, M.Si, serta para Asisten Sekda dan Staf Ahli Wali Kota. Sebagian berkumpul di lobi depan Kantor Wali Kota Kupang, sebagian lagi berjaga-jaga di tangga depan kantor tersebut. Bahkan dari pintu gerbang masuk kantor, para anggota Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja tampak berbaris membentuk pagar betis. Semua tampak antusias seperti hendak menyambut seseorang yang istimewa.

Dari kejauhan terlihat mobil biru berplat nomor DH 1 A semakin mendekat. Yang dinantikan akhirnya tiba. Sang Yubilaris, Wali Kota Kupang, Dr. Jefirstson R. Riwu Kore, MM,MH yang hari ini merayakan ulang tahun ke-62 tiba di kantor, didampingi istri, Ny. Hilda Riwu Kore. Tepuk tangan meriah seluruh ASN dan pejabat yang hadir menyambut kehadirannya sejak gerbang masuk hingga lobi utama kantor Wali Kota Kupang. Dengan tangan terkatup, sambil sesekali melambaikan tangan, sosok sederhana dan rendah hati itu tak henti-hentinya mengucapkan terima kasih kepada semua yang sudah menantinya untuk memberi ucapan selamat.

Di lobi utama, Wali Kota dan istri disambut dengan pengalungan selendang oleh Wawali dan Sekda. Diiringi lagu selamat ulang tahun oleh semua yang hadir, Wali Kota yang akrab disapa Jeriko itu meniup lilin kue ulang tahun yang sudah disiapkan.

Wali Kota yang tidak menyangka adanya sambutan meriah seperti itu mengaku sangat terharu atas kejutan yang diberikan oleh Wawali dan Sekda bersama jajarannya. “Surprise seperti ini belum pernah terjadi dalam hidup saya. Bahkan sejak kecil ulang tahun saya selalu dirayakan secara sederhana bersama orang tua,” ungkapnya.

Ucapan terima kasih disampaikannya kepada Wawali dan seluruh ASN yang sudah bekerja sama dan mendukungnya selama kurang lebih 5 tahun. “Moga-moga 7 bulan ke depan yang tersisa dari masa jabatan kami bersama Pak Wakil, kita bisa terus bergandengan tangan, karena masih banyak pekerjaan rumah yang harus kita selesaikan. Doakan supaya kami tetap punya tangan-tangan yang kuat untuk membantu masih banyak sama saudara kita yang tidak beruntung,” pungkasnya.

Wawali pada kesempatan yang sama mewakili seluruh jajaran Pemkot Kupang menyampaikan proficiat dan selamat ulang tahun kepada Wali Kota Jeriko. “Kami percaya 62 tahun bukanlah perjalanan yang singkat. Kita serahkan perjalanan selanjutnya ke tangan Tuhan agar diberi umur yang panjang, kesehatan dan kesuksesan,” tambah pasangan duet Jeriko dalam paket FirmanMu itu.
