Familia – Sikumana, Kota Kupang yang dikelola oleh Yayasan Mgr. Gabriel Manek, SVD. Suster-Suster dari Biara PRR dan para guru di sekolah dengan Akreditasi A Unggul itu selalu menanamkan disiplin dan budaya hidup bersih kepada siswa/i baru (kelas 7, red) sejak masa Pengenalan Lingkungan Sekolah (PLS).

 

Demikian dikatakan Kepala SMPK Sta. Familia, Sikumana – Kota Kupang, Sr. M. Annunciata Maria Sedu Oyi, PRR kepada wartawan pada Selasa (29/11/22) siang. Menurutnya, disiplin untuk menjaga kebersihan sekolah sudah dilaksanakan pihaknya sejak awal sekolah tersebut didirikan.

 

“Untuk kebersihan sudah menjadi kebiasaan dan budaya di sekolah ini sejak dahulu. Kami selalu menanamkan disiplin dan budaya hidup bersih kepada siswa/i sejak awal masuk ke sekolah ini. Sejak masa Pengenalan Lingkungan Sekolah (PLS), kita sudah tegaskan aturan, tata tertib dan disiplin sekolah, terutama disiplin untuk menjaga kebersihan sekolah,” papar Sr. Annunciata, PRR.

 

Ia menegaskan, hal yang paling penting untuk menjaga kebersihan sekolah adalah kesadaran untuk membuang sampah pada tempatnya. “Karena kalau anak tidak dilatih untuk membuang sampah pada tempatnya sejak awal, maka lingkungan sekolah setiap harinya akan terdapat sampah di mana-mana. Karena itu sejak dini di masa PLS, kita benar-benar jaga ketat anak-anak untuk benar-benar memastikan sekecil apapun sampah itu, harus dibuang ke tempat sampah,” tegas Sr. Annunciata.

 

Pihaknya, lanjut Sr. Annunciata, menanamkan displin kepada siswa/i bahwa apapun sampah plastik harus di buang pada tempat sampah. “Itu yang kami tekankan, mulai dari sedotan yang paling kecil. Sedotan permen lidi biasanya, setelah makan anak-anak langsung buang. Begitu juga kulit permen sampai dan sampah-sampah plastik yang lain harus dipastikan masuk ke tempat sampah. Tidak dibuang di lingkungan sekolah atau di ruang kelas,” tandasnya.

 

Ia menjelaskan, pihaknya membiasakan siswa/i untuk aktif dalam kegiatan pembersihan kelas dan lingkungan sekolah. “Kami tak mau siswa/i dimanjakan dan tergantung dengan cleaning service dan Satpam untuk kebersihan sekolah. Siswa/i diberi tugas dan tanggung jawab untuk membersihkan kelasnya masing-masing,” ujar Sr. Annunciata.

 

Pihaknya melatih peserta didik untuk memiliki disiplin dan tanggung jawab terhadap kebersihan kelas dan lingkungan sekolah. “Kebersihan itu harus dijaga dan menjadi tanggung jawab peserta didik. Mengapa? Karena kita mau melatih anak-anak untuk menjaga kebersihan. Setiap siswa/i harus terampil membersihkan lingkungan, baik ruang kelas, emper dan lingkungan sekolah,” tandasnya.
